My brother Brian and his wife Karlyn from Utah came to visit us last night. We had a barbecue at the lake and drove up to Maple Ridge to get a good view of Rainier. Today they treated me to a pedicure and Valerie to a manicure. Brian got a pedicure with me and Karlyn got a manicure with Val. Afterwards, we went to the Black Diamond Bakery for a treat and visited the gift shop, the little meat store and looked in the windows at the book store. It was a really fun visit but way too short. We hope they come back again soon!

We had some barbeque at the park the night before, squished 5 people into a 4 person rental car..Chevy cobalt is great for run around trips. (33 mpg meant that between Seattle and Portland with some run around in between (mapquest) that we only did 2 fill up's. 10 gallons of gold)
we had some imported sodas from Portland, chips baked beans the real ones and some burgers. thanks Kelly!

this was all on a pick nic table in a park by a lake. people playing fishing and Frisbee throwing, but we talked it was nice.
Although my trips purpose was to go to my friends family sealing I thought it best being only 3 1/2 hours away to celebrate my family as well. so we planned the trip to incorporate a visit to Wendy's in Seattle. this was more argious than previously anticipated.
original plan was to fly to Seattle (SEA)drive to Portland (pdx)and fly from PDX to SLC. well, as the new flights came about there are no flights between the two cities of pdx and sea on the weekend. so then I planned a one way rental car. $659 later I replanned. instead of an expensive one way car I got a priceline $57 total (not per day) 3 day rental Chevy cobalt from national rental. and we flew from SLC to SEA took the rental car from SEA to PDX attended the family sealing dinner and a movie for the new hulk afterwards(liked it) and slept in drove back to SEA and had bbque. slept in till noon again and went for pedicures. then off to the airport one more time back to SLC. it was actually more like my work flights except for the sleep in part. but since my wife was with me we indulged a tiny bit. Marriott took care of us for free on our 3 stays 2 at courtyards one at a towne place suite. and we enjoyed the movies of golden compass and national treasure 2.
