Duaine and Rashele's visit 6/22/05

Guess what? It's raining today. And just when we were beginning to think we might have to water the lawn.(Smug smile)

We had a great visit with Duaine & Rashele and family. They arrived last Thursday afternoon and spent until Tuesday morning with us. I'm sure we wore them out 'cause I'm exhausted myself. The day they came we toured Maple Valley and planned our activities for the rest of the week. Friday we went to Snoqualmie Falls and then to Seattle to eat lunch at Seattle and feed the seagulls. After that we spent the rest of the afternoon at the Seattle Aquarium. Saturday was a ferry trip to Bremerton to see the U.S.S. Turner Joy and back to Seattle to Pike's Place Market and the Seattle Science Center. Sunday after church and dinner we drove out to the Green River Gorge. And Monday we went to Saltwater State Park to see the tide pools and picnicked at Lake Wilderness that evening.

Duaine and Rashele seemed impressed with the landscape and really loved the weather. Cayden and Jared had a blast with Brennan and Riley and my boys seemed to genuinely enjoy entertaining them as well. Emily (10 mos.) took to me right away and we were practically inseperable the whole time. She also loved the dogs although the dogs seemed to get more jealous of her by the day. I discovered that I'm in no shape for toting babies around any more. My back complained loudly and will probably take the rest of the week to recover. It was worth it.

Wish you all could come for a visit. You're always welcome.
See you in July.
Love, Wendy

p.s. to family- hope you enjoy the surplus from Soon.
