Road Show

June 5th, 2007 - Rock Creek Ward presents "Goldie Fox" starring Valerie as young Goldie and Riley as Red.

Daughter complains to her mother, Goldie, that her life is too hard. Goldie explains that it wasn't always easy living in a fairy tale.

Flashback to fairy tale land in the 70s. Red (as in Riding Hood) enters with his posse of "T bears" (three bears) strutting their stuff.

Red and the T bears harass Snow White and her forest friends.

The young Goldie, "Hot Fox Goldie Locks," comes across Red and the T bears while driving to school with her friends Gretel and Sleeping Beauty.

Red and Goldie's friends convince her ditch school and find some fun.

They come to a fork in the road that points to "Happily Ever After Avenue" and Happily Never After Boulevard."

The Temptations urge them to cruise down the Boulevard.

The van gets a flat tire when they run over a glass slipper the fleeing Cinderella loses as she ran across the stage. Prince Charming laments that "Now he'll never find her!"

Red tells Goldie that the friends are spoiling their vibe and she agrees. Sleeping Beauty, Gretel and the T bears split the scene. As Goldie tries to persuade Red to fix the flat tire, an agent wolf from Hollywood enters and lures Red to show business.

Goldie is left alone and crying in the forest.

Three fairies (named after our stake presidency) appear and ask Goldie why she went down the Boulevard. She answers that she just wanted friends who would make her want to boogie all the time. The fairies tell her that she knew along what she should do.

Goldie insists she doesn't know what to do now so the fairies leave her with a frog, telling her all her problems will be solved.

The frog threatens to leave when Goldie doesn't want to kiss him. He tells her things aren't always what they seem.

Goldie kisses the frog (aww, just the top of his head) and he becomes a handsome prince.

Goldie and the prince (his crown is upside down!) head down Happily Ever After Avenue.

Scene from the big musical finale.

Riley and the tempters break dancing in the finale.

PROLOGUE:
Daughter tells mother Goldie it was quite a story. She never knew Dad was a frog. Then she asks "Whatever happened to all your groovy friends?"

Goldie tells her that Gretel found a candy house down the boulevard and ate the whole thing. Prince Charming gave up looking for Cinderella and married Sleeping Beauty. And Red, let's just say he was eaten up by Hollywood.
